Destination (2012 - 2013)

Destination (2012 - 2013) is a dynamic, thought provoking dance theatre production combining original music, song, new media and set design to inspire and raise aspirations in young people.

Set at a school reunion in 2030, Destination is a journey through time which follows the very different lives of three best friends. The twists and turns they face reflect the typical challenges and choices we all encounter in our professional and personal lives. This motivational and exuberant new piece of work from Qdos Creates shows that it is possible to overcome whatever life throws at you; that if you work hard and put your mind to it, you can achieve your goals.

Expect a high quality, contemporary and energetic piece of dance theatre, followed by a creative dance-theatre based workshop led by the performers where pupils can explore the different issues raised in the performance.

Destination is open for bookings from schools and youth-led organisations. It includes a post-performance creative dance-theatre based workshop where pupils can explore the different issues raised in the performance through participation.

 Praise for Destination

Clare Archer – Youth Services, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council

“Good, well thought out ‘original’ piece of drama….aspirations is a really hard subject to convey to others in a way they can understand – you did a great job in achieving this… great work once again. You keep coming back bigger and better”

Linda Lavelle – Crime Prevention Team , Youth Offending Team, Barnsley

“An excellent performance piece with a powerful message; working with Qdos is always a positive learning experience for our groups …Qdos performers are not only excellent in performing but the quality of workshops is equally good and they can engage the most ‘hard to reach’.”

Katherine James – Communication and recruitment, Barnsley College

“This energetic production is a great example of how the arts and in particular visual performances can communicate, inspire and entertain a wide audience; I think it is as engaging for adults as it is for the young people in schools it has been designed for.”
